Establishment of MediaFLO™ Japan Planning IncorporatedTranslated from original Japanese press release December 22 , 2005 KDDI Corporation (Headquarter: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & Chairman: Tadashi Onodera) and QUALCOMM Japan Incorporated (Headquarter: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Jun Yamada) announced today the companies will form a new company, the MediaFLO Japan Planning Incorporated in order to pursue the possibility of providing MediaFLO service in Japan. The company will become incorporated on Tuesday, December 27, 2005. MediaFLO is a multimedia distribution technology for cellular phones, developed by a US company, QUALCOMM Incorporated. MediaFLO is highly efficient in spectrum usage, and realizes multi-channel / clip-cast content distribution. MediaFLO Japan Planning Incorporated will pursue the opportunity of providing various services with using the technology and the improvement of cellular phone customer convenience.
